Since 1965, Merle Norman Cosmetics of Cookeville has proudly served the beauty and fashion needs of the Cookeville community and beyond. Over the years, we’ve evolved from a cosmetics store into a full-service bridal salon, now home to Magnolia James Bridal. For the past 12 years at our current location, we’ve expanded to bridal gowns, tuxedos, and, most importantly, an exceptional bridal experience.

Our Story
Cynthia Strong began her journey with Merle Norman Cosmetics at just 16 years old and became the proud owner of the store in 2000. Alongside her husband, Gary, Cynthia co-founded Magnolia James Bridal, combining their passion for superior service and timeless style. Together, they’ve built a family-based salon dedicated to fulfilling dreams for generations.

Cynthia’s decades of experience and dedication shine in everything she does. Her mission is to create unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experiences for every customer, from their first junior high dance to their “happily ever after.”
